Notes beginning Monday 21st September
Pride of place this week goes to our Ladies senior team who left everything on the field on Saturday but were defeated by a strong Kilbride team. Well done to team and management on their wonderful campaign and congratulations to Kilbride on their wonderful achievement of 5 in a row.
Our U14s were defeated by Oran/St Croans on Friday evening. They will now play Roscommon Gaels in semi final on Saturday at 1.30pm. Our Junior B team will start their campaign on Saturday when they play Kilglass away at 4.30pm. We wish the team and management the very best of luck.
Many thanks to Pádraig Glancy for sponsorship of tops for our U16 combined team. The Glancy family have been very generous to our combined teams over the last few years and we are very grateful.
Our 404020 draw took place again on Sunday night, winner was Aisling Hoey who won €430, our charity got €215 which brings their total for the month to €631. Please support at www.404020.ie
DRIVE IN BINGO continues every Sunday evening at 8pm in Glancys SuperValu carpark. Thanks to all the volunteers for their help.
Sympathy of the club is extended to the Whyte family Woodbrook on the passing of Margaret Whyte RIP. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. As a mark of respect to Margaret and the Whyte family a minutes silence was observed before our Ladies final on Saturday.
The club wishes our neighbours St Mary's GAA senior men's team the very best of luck in their county final against Mohill next Sunday.
Ladies:
After such an exciting build up to the Senior Championship County final our ladies bowed out to a strong and talented Kilbride team. We wish them luck as they continue their campaign in Connacht Club competition.
The ladies and club would like to extend a huge thank you to the whole parish young and old for flying the club colours the past 2 weeks,the messages of good wishes from home and abroad and for the tremendous support in the lead up to the final.

WE would also like to thank Shannon Gaels GAA CLub for the huge support and work, the underage coaches and parents for bringing the under age teams to the football field to cheer on the senior ladies, to everyone who put up flags and signs, Chris O'Dowd for all the wonderful photos and videos, to Colm Kelly for making the wonderful video and Sham Hanafa for orgainising the message from "Michael D Higgins".
Sincere thanks to the COunty board for all their help expecially secretary Marie McAleer and PRO Shelly . THanks also to Oliver Donagher who did the commentary on the live stream at very short notice. WE thank David and Marie and all the staff in the Four Provinces for the lovely food and their wonderful hospitality. Thanks to Martina Cogan for medical assistance all year and to Geraldine Colleran for attending Mary at game on Saturday. We wish Mary a speedy recovery who played for 15 minutes with a fractured wrist.
Thanks to James Dean for his dedication and commitment to the team, his fiancee Linda for her hard work as Covid supervisor, James Egan adn Paul Madden for their hard work with the team.
Finally a massive thank you to the team themselves for bringing us weeks for magic football and taking the whole parish on a massive rollercoaster ride. What a great bunch of ladies. The pride fo the parish and club and we hope to be back in the final in 2021.
