St Croan’s were top of the table during the group stages defeating St Mary’s Tulsk, Padraig Pearses, Clann na nGael II, St Faithleachs and Strokestown in the semi-final.

Our girls reached the Junior A County final for the first time ever and were victorious. It was a game of two halves! St Croan’s had all the possession and drive in the first half with a variety of scorers and a goal from Leah Malone to ensure the lead as it was 1-06 to 1-01 at the break. However it was far from over, both sides were determined to win which resulted in a nail biting affair with only a single point to separate the teams. The second half displayed Michael Glaveys’ desire to win the title, putting our defence under huge pressure. Significant scores from Sinead Kenny, Aisling Tarmey and Leah Malone proved vital, with St Croan’s only having a point to spare at the final whistle. The full time score of 1-10 to 1-09 secured the victory for our girls .

Our Junior Girls displayed great skill and a relentless spirit for never giving up which resulted in their well earned victory!

Scorers: Ella Thompson (0-1), Sharon Ryan (0-1), Sinead Kenny (0-2), Aisling Tarmey (0-2), Leah Malone (1-3), Gráinne Tarmey (0-1)
