The Seniors had an exciting day of games in Castlebar on Saturday last at the 7 a-side Connacht blitz.  There were 5 rounds in the group stages and the girls ran their hearts out in all games and secured victories in 4 of the games and drew 1 therefore qualifying for the Cup Final.  The opponents were to be St. Bridget's from Roscommon a tough side that had previously knocked us out of the Connacht league.  The girls put in an exceptional amount of team work and running all day and gave 110% in the games and come the final the legs were sore but they still ran and fought for every ball but unfortunately on the day St. Bridget's wanted the Cup more, they went ahead in the second half and with only 10 mins a-side there just wasn't enough time to get ahead.   The panel on the day was Noelle Gormley, Angela Doohan, Annmarie Coleman, Etna Flanagan, Aine Gormley, Aileen Hannon, Tara Doddy, Aileen Gorman, Niamh Gorman, Aine Brennan, Jacqueline Barrett, & Eleanor Kennedy. The girls were exceptionally managed on the day by Cammie Kennedy, Louise O'Donnell & Kathleen Coleman.

The U10 Blitz was due to be held in Drumcliff this Saturday the 23rd of June. The Community Games County Finals have been scheduled for this day and therefore will clash with the blitz.  The Blitz has been postponed with no new date set.  St. Nathys are due to hold the next one on the 21st July.

The U12 League games were hampered by bad weather and due to this some games had to be re-fixed.  St. Nathys girls have made the semi final which is due to be played on the 20th June "@7pm away to Drumcliff.  Best of luck girls. The U14's also had their games postponed due to weather conditions and St Nathys are now due to play their Semi final on the 25th June at 7pm against the winners of Drumcliff or Owenmore Gaels. The Seniors and U16's continue training hard in preparation for the Championship, fixtures are due out in the coming weeks.

Sunday the 24th June is a big day for Etna Flanagan, Noelle Gormley, Aine Gormley & Annmarie Coleman. It is the Semi Final of the Gillespie's Tubbercurry Connacht Championship and is against a determined Leitrim side.   The girls are all contenders for a position in the first 15 lineup.  The County Team is guided this year by a St. Nathys player as captain, Etna Flanagan has that honor and well deserves it as she has given so many dedicated years to County football and never fails to clock up the miles on the football pitch.  Therefore best wishes to the St. Nathys girls and the Sligo County team in their quest for glory in the 2012 Championship season and in the upcoming game against Leitrim.
