Our Ladies Senior Football Championship gets underway this Sunday, when we play St. Mary's Kiltoghert at 5.45pm in Leitrim Village. This is the first game in a double header with St.Josephs B v Drumkeerin in the Junior Football Championship at 7.15pm. Best of luck to management and players on the day.
Intermediate Leitrim Ladies:
Well done to midfielder Dee Ward, captain Mairéad Stenson,forward Kiara Keegan and the Leitrim Ladies who were victorious in their game against Limerick, in the TG4 Intermediate Group A Championship, in Adare last Saturday. The final scoreline read Leitrim 2-13 Limerick 3-4. The ladies have finished runners-up in their group and now progress to play either Armagh or Waterford on the 19th of August.
Minor 13 aside Championship:
On what was a rare but glorious day last Thursday, our minor team headed to Aughavas to kick off their championship for 2012. The girls displayed great skill and determination throughout the 50 minutes and we very unlucky not to come home with a win. The team lined out as follows; Katie Mulligan, Celine Mulligan, Kate O'Neill, Nicole Higgins, Caoimhe Canning, ClÃodhna Reynolds, Claire Beirne, Aileen Flynn, Ordhnaith McGuinness, Caoimhe McGuinness, Caroline Healy, Colette Gannon and Cáit McHugh. The girls now play St. Brigids in their next round at 7pm Tuesday 31st July. Best of luck girls!
U12 Girls' Club Championship:
Hard luck to the U12 girls who were defeated by a very strong St.Mary's Kiltoghert team, last Thursday at home. Their next game will be this Thursday at the usual time of 7pm vs Drumkeerin with Drumkeerin having home advantage.
Olympics:
With the opening ceremony taking place last Friday, the London 2012 Olympics have arrived. We wish Laura Reynolds and coach Colin Griffin the very best of luck as they continue to train and prepare for this momentous event.
Senior Men's Football Championship:
Well done to the Men's Senior team who defeated Carrigallen last Saturday in Ballinamore. We wish both team and management continued success in the upcoming rounds.
Tea Party:
There will be a Tea Party held in J's Hotel on Friday the 24th August in aid of Mohill GAA.
