Corofin Ladies GAA: U14 Girls Feile competition took place last Sunday 21st April in Belclare.  Corofin had their first game against reigning champions Claregalway, it was a superb game of football from the very start, our girls showing great determination throughout and thankfully came out with a very deserved win, 4-4 to 4-2.

The next game in their group was against Glenamaddy, and again the girls showing great skill throughout had a comprehensive win, 4-8 to 2-2.

As Corofin won both their games, this meant they secured a place in the final against Kilkerrin-Clonberne.

The final was played in Belclare later that evening, both teams quiet tired after the great day of football. Corofin opened the scoring with a point and a goal in the opening minutes, and continued to hold the lead, at halftime the score was 1-4 to 0-2.

With great determination from all players, Corofin girls won on a scoreline of 5-4 to 0-4 and are now County Feile Champions and will represent County Galway in the National Feile Finals to be held in June 28-30th.

Corofin girls will be hosted by Aodh Ruadh Club, Ballyshannon, County Donegal.  Well done girls on becoming County Feile Champions, something that hasn't been achieved in Corofin since 2006.
