Eventful week at the end of June
It will be the biggest week of activity the club has been involved in since the opening of the renewed Páirc Sheáin Uà Eislin in May 2009. From Sunday 23 June to Saturday 29 June we will have a whole series of major events taking place. On Sunday 23 June we will have the "Cycle to the Match" in Páirc Seán. On Thursday 27 we will have the big concert in the Park with Eleanor Shanley, Charlie McGettigan, Martin Donohoe, David Angus, Edwina Guckian and others performing. The Dialogues Through Literature" Symposium will take place on Friday and Saturday, all day in the Marquee in the Park. On Saturday it will all end with the Midsummer Banquet in the marquee.
Seniors Beat Dromahair
On Sunday morning, on the lovely banks of the Bonet River, our senior had a good win over Dromahair. This win keeps us well up the Division 1 table, well away from the bottom end and closer to the top. From the very start we dominated and by half-time had seven points up to Dromahair's two. Significant too, was that all our scores were from play and six different scorers: David Duignan had two and Paul McLoughlin, John McWeeney, Anthony McTague, Liam Ferguson and Shane Moran one each. We had missed a couple of goal chances in the first half but as it turned out we didn't need them. The goal that eventually sealed it came from a great move finished by Mark McGrory. It ended 1-11 to 0-4.
