On Saturday evening last, in a sun drenched Tourlestrane, our senior men played top of the table, Eastern Harps, in the 8th round of the Division 1 league. The game took place in our new training facility pitch.
It was the visitiors who made an impressive start rushing into a four point lead. However as the game wore on Adrian Mcintyre, the most impressiver player on the field, helped haul back the Harps lead to two points at the break. We saw a different Tourlestrane emerge in the second half, playing a more direct game and picking off points. Final score was a deserved win for Tourlestrane, 0-14 to 0-10. Team lined as as follows: Seamus Gildea, Barry Kirrane,Brian Kennedy, David Durkin, Gary Gaughan, Noel Gaughan,James Leonard, Shane Dunne, Adrian McIntyre, John Kelly, Brian Egan, John Marren, Darren Walsh, John Quinn, Gerry McGowan. Subs used: Oisin Kennedy.
The new training facility looked splendid for the game. Thank you to the commitment of Chairman, Brendan Leonard, and his crew of workers.
