Minors Qualify for Championship Final in Thriller
This was as fine a victory as we ever had in any grade. Just imagine the situation, were underdogs going into the game and after a quarter of an hour St Brigid's (Aughawillan/Drumreilly/Aughnasheelin combination) are leading by 1-7 to 0-2 and have missed a few chances as well. Our two points had come from Luke Murphy and we missed little because we had few chances. Eight points behind seemed a mountain to climb. Luke Murphy pointed his second free and Peter Reynolds pointed another and then with time almost up Keelan McHugh rattled the net from close range and suddenly it is 1-8 to 1-4 as we came to half time and now there was hope, but was it only a hope? We could scarcely believe the transformation in the second half. O'Heslin's dominated and although scores were slow to come and hard-grafted, they did eventually come from Peter Reynolds, Luke Murphy, and OisÃn McCaffrey and then pointed frees from Luke Murphy and two immaculate long-distance ones from Peter Reynolds to put us two points up. We thought the whistle would never come and then St Brigid's got a point to leave one in it with time up. Could we survive? Yes we could and then Luke Murphy, one of many heroes, floated the ball into the square and Paddy Connaughton finished to the net to make sure and certain. It ended in a memorable 2-10 to 1-9 victory.
Foireann: Cian McCaffrey, Darren Maxwell, Keelan McHugh (1-0), James Hamill, Brian Leyden, Donal Feely, Paddy Connaughton (1-0), Dean McGovern, Peter Reynolds (0-4,3f), Conor Moran, Luke Murphy (0-5,3f), Anthony Maguire, Daire Murphy, Niall McGovern, OisÃn McCaffrey (0-1). Sub: Mark O'Reilly for Daire Murphy
Ladies out of Championship
Our Ladies team made their exit from the Intermediate Championship on Saturday. Unfortunately the team was depleted for a number of reasons but they still put in a great display in the semi-final. At half time Glencar/Manorhamilton led by 1-7 to 0-4 and it ended 2-14 to 1-8. Best of luck to Kirby Gilgunn who will be studying in England for the next couple of years. We wish to thank all of the players for all the efforts they put into the game during the year. Our season is now complete at adult level.
Foireann: Aisling Flaherty, Ãine Martin, Rachel Gilheaney, Ellen Wrynn, Michelle Fanning, Kirby Gilgunn, Katie Duignan, Ciara O'Dowd, Eilish O'Dowd (0-2), RóisÃn McHugh (0-3), Aoibheann Flynn (0-3), Lisa Maguire, Maeve Gleeson, Aoife Smith, Leighanne Flynn (1-0). Subs Cáit Connaughton, Celine Charles.

All Ireland Minor Hurling "C" Final in the Park on Saturday
The All Ireland "C" Minor Hurling Final will be played in the Park on Saturday next at 3.00pm. The teams are Mayo and Monaghan. Interestingly, almost thirty years ago, in 1984, Leitrim won this competition, beating Longford in the Final in Páirc Séan Mac Diarmada. The winning team included Ballinamore players; Brian Breen, Conor Harte, Ciarán Mahon, Dermot O'Brien and Joe Casey.
Under 12 Football
Our under 12's took part in a blitz hosted by Gowna club in Cavan on last Saturday. We beat Longford Slashers and Colmcille from Longford and lost to Killygarry from Cavan. We were drawn against Slashers in the knockout stages and this being the fourth game we played on the day our lads were very tired and Slashers won.
Well done to the panel who took part on the day, Tom Prior, Seamus Wisely, Paul Moran, Eoin Hamill, Jakub Kaminski, Dillon Beirne, Danny Smyth, Mark McCaffrey, Sean Christie, Michael McKiernan, James Creamer, James Ãg Maguire, Francis McGovern, Eoin Toolan, Euan McManus, Aaron McBrien and Killian O'Neill.
A special word of thanks to Kevin McGovern and John Conway who looked after the team on the day. We also played in a blitz in Páirc Sean on the previous Saturday playing games against Fenagh and Leitrim Gaels. A special word of thanks to Gene McManus who looked after the team that day. Also the team and management wish Senan Harte a speedy recovery.
