2013 Presentation- Westport Ladies Gaelic Football Club

Westport Ladies Gaelic Football Club’s annual Juvenile Awards’ Night took place in The Mill Times Hotel, Westport on Friday, 22 November last and was a massive success with great numbers turning out. 2013 has been yet another triumphant and memorable year for the club and there was a lot of silverware on display.

David O’Malley (Club Minor/ Senior Selector), acted as MC for the night and did a fantastic job in keeping the whole night flowing, giving the benefit of his insights and humour throughout. Chairperson Breda Browne gave the opening speech, welcoming all the players and their families and congratulating all the teams on their outstanding achievements over the season. She went on to thank club sponsors, Westport GAA Club and Sacred Heart School for use of their facilities and fellow committee members for their ongoing hard work. On behalf of Westport L.G.F.C., she thanked Cllr. Martin Keane, who was in attendance, for his continued support and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavours. Also present were Austie Groden (Chairperson, Westport GAA Club) and Fr. Charlie McDonnell.

Guests of honour on the night were Mayo footballing stars: Donal Vaughan, Colm Boyle and Jason Doherty who received a rapturous welcome upon arrival. Medals were presented to the victorious U12, U16 and Minor Teams by the above mentioned guests of honour, aided by Westport L.G.F.C.’s Senior Captain, Laura Heraty.
