Béal an Ãtha Móir Seán à hEislin 125 Yearâs young âFriday 31st Of January a celebration and open evening
Friday the 31st of January is the anniversary of a special day in the history of our club; it was on this night 125 years ago that the club was founded in 1889 at a meeting in McGauranâs Railway Hotel, now the Allied Irish Bank. We would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to join us in the park to commemorate and mark this special occasion at 2100pm this Friday. We would like all members, players, fans and locals both past, present and future to join us and be part of another historical moment in our clubs history. This is a wonderful opportunity to tour the facilities and take part in the commemorative photographs which will take part at 2130, who knows who will be looking back at them in another 125 years! Refreshments will be served on the night and membership will be open.
RIP Berney Crossan.
On behalf of everyone at the club we would like to pass on our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our former player Berney Crossan who passed away last week. Berney was an exceptional servant to our club playing competitively from 1962 to 1974 as both corner and wingback. During this period Berney wasinstrumental in helping the club achieve some of our greatest successes most notably Berney was a member of the all conquering âthree in a row championship winning teamâ and was also a major part of the successful championship winning team of 1964. After hanging up his boots Berney continued to be major supporter of the club and will be missed by us all. Go ndéana Dia trócaire air
