We are half way through the 2014 season and League Finals have finished for some groups.  The Junior title went to St. Farnan’s who defeated Owenmore Gaels.  The Intermediate Final was taken by Eastern Harps in a closely fought match against St Michaels.  The Senior title was duly awarded to Geevagh who overcame reigning champions St Nathys.  The U16 A Title was awarded to Eastern Harps for defeating Drumcliff-Rossesspoint, the B Title went to Calry as they beat Owenmore Gaels.  The C1 Final went to Ballymote while the C2 Final went to St Molaise Gaels.

The last area U10 girls blitz will be held in Keash (Eastern Harps) on 7/6/2014.  All clubs are invited and are asked to confirm attendance by email to sligoladiesdevelopment@gmail.com at the earliest convenience.

The Connacht Championship Campaign came to a close for the U14’s and they finished their season with the annual trip to the All Ireland blitz in Kinnegad.  The girls had a very enjoyable time winning 2 out of 4 games, not enough to win the group but did the County proud.  Sincere thank you to the management Laurence Cunningham, Pat Costelloe, Tracy O Kenedy, Maureen Walsh, & Anne Mohan.

The U16 County games are ongoing while the Intermediate County Team play in the Connacht 3rd game decider against Roscommon on June 22nd.  (Time & Venue to be confirmed)

The SSRP (Sligo Sports & Recreation Partnership) have funding available to clubs who wish to promote physical activity programmes for Mothers, Volunteers & Players of the GAA.  They can run pilates, circuit training, outdoor bootcamp, walking/running, cycling, aerobics etc as part of the programme. SSRP can provide part funding support, promotion and a qualified instructor.  All interested clubs can get further details from diane@sligosportandrecreation.ie.

The next County Board Meeting is on Monday 9th June at 8.30pm.  All club delegates are asked to attend.
