MINOR: The minor ladies were defeated by Boyle 2.12 to 5.8 in the championship last week. This was a very close game and a much improved performance on the previous week when they lost heavily to Shannon Gaels. Our girls were two points up at half time but despite conceding an own goal Boyle took the points in the end.
Team and scorers: Shauna McDermott, Sarah Madden, Rebecca Lee, Jill Mullooly, Colleen Cauneen, Mikaela Lawe, Triona Kelly 0.2, Aisling Hanley 1.7, Eleanor Hanley, Chelsea Devine 0.2, Cora Devine, Emer Compton, Hetty Cahill 0.1. Sub: Zoe McDermott (Emer Compton). Missing from panel: Claire Brogan, Caroline Beirne, Caitlin Flanagan. They play St Faithleachs on this Tuesday evening at 7pm in Ballyleague.
SENIOR: The Senior ladies had a good win over Oran in their final group game on Monday last. They await news of the draw to decide who they will meet in the semifinal. They enjoyed a social outing on Sunday last with an trip to Zipit in Boyle, thanks to team sponsor Jason Hanly who hosted a barbecue for the ladies afterwards.
COUNTY NEWS: Well done to Feena Beirne and her Roscommon team mates who defeated Offaly in the qualifiers last Saturday. They will play Longford in the quarter final on Saturday 16th, time and venue tbc.
