Hard luck to our gallant U 14 team who lost the Div 2B final on Sunday to Western Gaels . It was very much a game of two halves with Western Gaels dominant in the first half aided by a strong breeze . By the half way mark they had registered 4 goals and 5 points whereas Kilbride only managed to register a single point. However Kilbride were the dominant team in the second half scoring a further goal and 6 points and they managed to keep Western Gaels scoreless throughout the half . But as the saying goes goals win games and this was the difference between the two sides on the day. The girls should be very proud of their performance and they showed great grit and determination right up to the final whistle.
Huge thanks to the management team of Padraig O'Beirne and Kevin Kenny who have put in a long season of training with this group. Thanks to Gillian McLoughlin, Joan O'Grady Sharon Mannion and Margaret Leonard for their assistance. Finally thanks to the parents for bringing the girls to training and matches all year and to all those who travelled to support them in the final.
Thanks to those who organised refreshments for the team in the clubhouse after the game .
