LADIES FOOTBALL:
Last Sunday was a very proud day for our parish and our club when our Senior ladies contested the Connacht Final against reigning All Ireland champions Carnacon. This was a repeat of last years Connacht Final.  It was a most unsatisfactory day for a game of football with strong wind and rain. Kilkerrin Clonberne were the first to get on to the scoreboard with a point but this was to be followed by 2 goals from Carnacon.  Our ladies kept plugging away with their points and  at half time the score was 2-02 to 0-10 points in favour of Kilkerrin Clonberne. The second half was a very cagey affair with both teams finding scores hard to come by. Every one was well marked and the wind was having a major impact on scoring. With normal time almost up and we ahead by two points, Carnacon were awarded a free which they scored. This left us only one point ahead in injury time. It was nerve wrecking stuff for all the supporters waiting for the whistle to go.  When the referee finally sounded the final whistle there were great scenes of jubilation from players and supporters. Final score was Kilkerrin Clonberne 0-12 Carnacon 2-05.  What a great achievement. Well done to all the girls and management. There was great singing and dancing with captain Annette Clarke accepted the cup. Congrats to Olivia Divilly who was awarded player of the match.
A massive thank you to all the supporters who travelled to Ballyhaunis for the final. Sincere thanks to all from our neighbouring clubs who came to support us on the day also. Thanks to all who lit fires around the parish and came out to greet us with flags and fireworks on our homecoming.  Kilkerrin Clonberne Ladies are now through to All Ireland Semi final where they will face the Ulster Champions, this game is scheduled for weekend of Nov. 15/16th at a Galway venue. Congratulations also to the other Galway Club Clonbur who won the  Connacht Junior final on the same day.  We wish them well in their All Ireland semi final.

Next weekend we must turn our attention to our Minor ladies who contest the Division A Connacht Minor final against St. Nathys. This match is on Saturday November 1st at 2pm in Ballyhaunis.  Your great support would once again be appreciated.

Junior training Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in Clonberne. League game vs St. Furseys in Clonberne Friday evening.

Keep Saturday night November 22nd free in your diary.  On that night we are having our annual fund raising auction in Country Inn Clonberne with music  by Jason Travers. BBQ, raffle and auction on the night.  Tickets are available from players, managers and committee members, €5 or 3 for €10.
