Ballinamore SOH Dinner Dance

Ballinamore SOH Dinner Dance takes place on Easter Sunday 5th April in The Standing Stone Hotel. There will be presentations and celebrations on the night for; the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Senior Championship winning team; the 25th anniversary of the 1990 Senior Championship winning team; the St Felim’s Minor 2014 Championship winners and the Minor Girls Championship winning side. Congratulations to Uachtarán Ballinamore Seán Ó hEislin Tomás Ó Moráin. Tommy recently set aside local club rivalries to produce John McDwyer’s play Callaghan’s Place along with the Aughawillan Drama Troupe. It was an excellent production by Tommy and the Aughawillan Drama Troupe delivered in a professional and outstanding way. 

Ballinamore Drama Festival

Ballinamore Drama Festival takes place from Sunday March 8th until Sunday March 15th. This year Éamon Daly from Drumshanbo will perform the official opening. Éamon is no stranger to the stage and has many talents in production, lighting, musical and a wonderful performer himself. We have a great line up of plays, with groups travelling from Cavan, Tyrone, Wexford, Sligo, Dublin, Donegal and Kildare to perform, plus the Corn Mill Theatre Group from Carrigallen. It’s a great week of culture, drama and an even better social occasion in the town. Come along any night or every night and support this community week of entertainment. Season tickets for 8 nights admission costs €50 or €10 nightly, with concessions for OAP’s and students.

Leitrim Ladies

Congratulations to Ballinamore’s Sarah McLoughlin and latest panellist Roisin McHugh along with the rest of the Leitrim Ladies team who secured an impressive fourth win in a row in the Tesco Homegrown NFL Division 3 League beating Longford by a huge margin of 4-11 to 0-3. Next up is a match against Sligo on Sunday 15th March at 2pm in Ballinamore.

The Senior lads had a good win over Drumreilly on Sunday running home with a score of 0-14 to 1-5. 

Ballinamore Hurling Club

Commiserations to Ballinamore Hurling who unfortunately were beaten by Micheál Breathnach last Saturday. Hopefully they can come out victorious in their next match.

Under 14 GAA Skills Training

Under 14 indoor skills training continues every Wednesday in the sports complex at 8pm for 1 hour.  

Waterways Ireland Ballinamore Kayak Run

Event Date is Easter Sunday 5th April 2015 at 1pm. 

After the successful first running of the event last Easter we are going again this Easter Sunday. Limited to 120 places with the option to compete on your own or as part of a relay team. All participants must be over 16 years of age on the day. 

This is a fun event consisting of a 7.5km run, a 1km kayak on the Ballinamore/Ballyconnell canal, a 27km cycle through the local country side on quiet roads back to the transition area with a final 250m run to the finish line in the town. The kayaks are provided and are sit on tops. They will be available in both single and doubles. They are stable and easy to handle.

Ballinamore Childcare Fundraising event

Folks please support the Ballinamore Childcare fundraising event which takes place on Friday 6th March at 8:30pm in the Ballinamore Community Centre. Assorted Fitness Classes

On Thursday the 5th, Monday the 9th, Thursday the 12th and Monday the 16th of March, our Assorted Fitness classes will be taking place in the scouts den next to the complex and playground as the drama festival seating is in the hall. All other classes are on as usual in the Ballinamore GAA Gym for ladies Tuesday and Thursday morning at 11am, Wednesday at 6.30pm & 7.30pm. Also we have a social beginners fitness class Thursday at 10am and a men's running and gym session Wednesday at 8.30pm both in the Gaa Gym.
