St. Croans Ladies Gaelic.

Our U10 girls played in a blitz organised by St. Barry's on Saturday last.   They played Longford Slashers, Dromard. Ardagh and St. Barrys. This was a great opportunity for the girls to showcase their new skills and proved a very enjoyable day for all.  A special word of thanks to St. Barrys for running the blitz and providing refreshments on the day.  On Thursday evening next the u8's and u10's will play Oran.  These games will throw in at 6.30 in Oran.

Our Junior ladies defeated St. Barrys in Tarmonbarry on Wednesday evening in what was a very intense game.  Croans had the edge over Barrys throughout with Claire Keegan denying the Barrys girls of a number of goal opportunities to get back into the game.  Croans fought hard to maintain their lead and have secured a place in the Junior B County semi-finals in the September sponsored by the Percy French Hotel.  Final score: St. Croans 4 11  St. Barrys  2 13. Training continues on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 8.30.

Having been defeated by Four Roads in the Summer League our attentions now turn to the U14 championship which will throw in on Sunday evening next with the opening game away to Padraig Pearses at 6 o clock. Training continues on Tuesday evenings at 7.30.

All players eligible for Minor this year are asked to note that training will continue alongside Junior training on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 8.30.

Cash for clobber collection is continuing and we will be holding a further collection day for bags of unwanted clothes bed linen, towels, shoes etc. during early September.  Further details will be available later.

Best wishes to all students who will receive their leaving certificate results this week.
